HEB has king cakes, but I hope they arent the best in Houston. The one I had last week was pretty lame and undercooked.

Get a kind of cake that's worth a damn. Go get a Red Velvet and thank me later.

If there is a local bakery near you that makes good cinnamon rolls, they can make a king cake.

Three Brothers Bakery has some good looking king cakes. I'm still debating buying one for the office. I haven't tried 3 Bros king cakes, but they haven't made anything that I and my kids haven't loved. Obviously more expensive than H-E-B, but also remember that everyone you know can go buy a king cake for cheap from there too.

The HEB king cake my wife just bought was the aboslute worst one I think I've ever had. Maybe we got a dud since it was a pick up order and they may have just thrown the worst one in our order. But it was awful.

You can get Caluda's from any PJ's.

Best Stop in Katy has Gambino's.

People rave about Greta Harvest in Katy but I didn't care for it.
