Best king cake in Lafayette or on way from Lafayette to BR

Have to go to Lafayette this weekend and I am totally unfamiliar with the king cake scene there. I have heard good things about Kellers and that’s really it. Might go with them unless there is another one worth trying out. Thanks in advance. I don’t get out that way too often so would like to check out a new option I can’t usually get.

Kellers amoretto walnut KC is solid. Downtown is open on Saturdays from 7a-4p.
Pouparts has a traditional French King Cake that is a round puff pastry with almond filling - same hours.

Meche’s, yes it’s a big arse donut, but it is pretty damn good.

Thanks everyone. Question on the blueberry cream cheese filling, is it donut type filling on the blueberry. Bc last king cake I tried it had the donut style filling mixed with cream cheese and it wasn’t good for me. Not sure I’d ever seen that before and now has me hesitant to try cream cheese with fruit filling on new to me king cakes. I am leaning towards Kellers at this point either way, just a matter of which flavor or traditional.

I’d just stick with plain cream cheese. I hope you get one and they aren’t sold out.

Keller’s is good, but it’s a pastry king cake.
Traditional cinnamon, I would go to Poupart’s or Great Harvest (it’s very good).
Meche’s is disgusting. Why people eat their king cakes or donuts is a mystery.

Sucre by Mansur's in BR. The best king cake I've ever eaten. It is so moist it almost jiggles while you cut it. They are proud of it, though.
