Collin Street Bakery is good for sandwiches/salads. It was closed in May for renovations, but should be back open now. Exit 532 just past Linden.

Since Collin Street was closed, we stopped at Dairy Palace in Canton. Great burgers, shareable portions of fries or all types.

A little off interstate, but Jucy’s in Marshall has one of the best burger’s I’ve ever eaten. Good fries, too.

Probably something in Louisiana, even in north Louisiana.

Stanley's in Tyler, TX. Home to some of the best BBQ that Texas has to offer.

Chopped brisket sandwich at Bodacious BBQ , second Kilgore exit. Quick and easy on and off I-20. Fantastic sandwich. Buy sauce and seasoning while you’re there.
Hey 42 Exit. It’s Excellent

There ain’t shite in La west of Shreveport.

There’s good barbecue in Tyler. Stanley’s, already mentioned, is the old school favorite in the downtown area. There’s a good place closer to the interstate called Brisket Love.

I live in the area. If I were making that trip and wanted to stop for lunch somewhere only a few minutes off the beaten path, 10 out of 10 times I'd choose Country Tavern in Kilgore. Best Ribs in East Texas. Potato Casserole is one of the best sides i've had at any BBQ joint. Personally I'd get, Ribs, Sausage, Potato Casserole and Spicy Mac.

Brisket Love in Lindale is good, Stanleys in Tyler is good.

Most of the decent restaurants on that strip are quite a ways off I-20 in Tyler or Longview.
