SO (no pics) currently in town through Saturday. She brought a cooler to bring back some boudin / andouille / etc.
What’ or who has the best in town or close by?

I would probably do Kartchners at exit 97 north, then do Best Stop a 1/4 mile up the road. Billy’s and Don’s also at exit 97 south get insanely busy with tourists. NuNu’s and Johnson’s Boucanierre have great boudin, not sure of their smoked meat and fresh sausage selections. Other great options in Eunice and Mamou, but that’s 20-30 minutes from Laffy

In addition to the others mentioned, Cajun Market Meats in Youngsville is good.

Johnson’s has absolutely delicious boudin. But if you’re wanting a good variety, Nunu’s and Kartchner’s.
Earl’s does have awesome twice baked potatoes and good boudin as well.

Johnson’s is overpriced for the tiny bit of product you get. I’m against $10 links of boudin

Best Stop is a great 1 stop shop. Best boudin IMO.
Katchners has some good sausages, but I’m not a fan of their boudin at all.
I’m a Scott homer, but……
Skip the insane line at Billy’s in Scott. There one off I-49.
Hebert’s would be another great place to go to load up an ice chest.
If your going to NuNu, go to the one in Youngsville.
Johnson’s is good, but it’s like Eunice boudin. It has a lot of rice. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not what I prefer. Also, very expensive for what it is.
I live in Scott, and don’t know the last time I’ve been to Don’s.

Bourques
I had to get in and out of Lafayette in a hurry last week and didn't have time to go out to Scott so I pulled into Bourques because it was on my way out. Picked up some different items.
Mixed Sausage - Great
Boudin Stuffed Chicken - Great
Sausage Stuffed Pork Tenderloin - Pretty good
Didnt get any boudin but now wish I would have to try it out. I liked the pork and beef sausage alot.
Best Stop has way more options and I would prefer it but Bourques was surprisingly good in a crunch

Next time you're on this end go to Kartchners and grab their maple syrup and jalapeno/cream cheese rolls. I much prefer those over the cheddar or pepperjack cheese variants from everywhere else.
Another product that flies under the radar, Best Stop makes some of the best beef jerky I've ever had.

I got some boudin (good), cracklins (average), and fresh sausage (very good) from there yesterday. I live 5 minutes away. That business is owned by a family member of Hebert's in Maurice. Very nice selection and a large variety of meats. The deboned stuffed chickens are the exact same.

Last time I bought cold boudin out the fridge to take home is was $4.99/lb.
