I know it’s not come culinary Mecca so go ahead and save the jokes and hit me with a few of the best spots to eat. Doesn’t have to be fancy or healthy. Just anything that’s good and unique to Starkville.

Restaurant Tyler is the best meal in town. Dave’s Dark Horse has great food (best Chicago style pizza in the south) and is a great place to have a few beers. Bin 612 and Two Bros are in the Cotton District if you want to look at college girls, good food as well. Georgia Blue is actually a solid meal and has a really cool bar area to sit in. Kings Craft Butcher shares a courtyard with Georgia Blue, and has a good burger and decent steak. Stromboli’s has good pizza and calzones. The Camphouse has always been decent. The Grille will probably have the biggest variety.

Thanks for the insight. I knew there was a bulldog on here who knew their shite. That’s all I was asking for.

Ate at some shithole bar attached to a Red Roof Inn last season. Good pizza.

The Veranda used to be really, really good.

That “shithole” is Dave’s that I mentioned, and it is legendary, so watch your mouth.

Unfortunately, the Veranda closed for good a couple of weeks ago.

Well damn. Used to drive over from Columbus 2 or 3 times a year to eat there . Was it going downhill or Covid related ?

Please excuse some of my LSU people. They can be quite embarrassing at times but you all knew this already.

Thanks for asking about this - I’m trying to get my daughter to explore other places than LSU - and we may take a ride to Starkville soon.

Might I recommend Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Arkansas and Auburn? All solid choices academically and overall college experience wise.

Texas Tech and Auburn would probably be a good fit for her but I think she wants to stay home. I had a good friend who went to Arkansas - and good friends that went to OU - they actually bought her tons of OU baby stuff and we brought here there - so OSU would be ironic

I was told the chef/owner went through a nasty divorce, and the quality went to shite. I haven’t been since 2019 football season.

Id avoid ou. Its nothing but Dallas snobs who have a stick up their arse. OSU & Stillwater is way more down to earth and a true college town. Norman is an Okc suburb. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Fayetteville. It’s such a nice part of Arkansas as well. You get all four seasons.
