Whatever you choose to eat hit Andy's ftozen custard afterwards! I would also throw Khans mongolian grill in the list of suggestions.

I didn't say it was great. Only reason I listed it was because of its history in Lafayette.

Tons of better restaurants, but not exactly Casual:
Charlie G's, Mazen, Cafe Vermillionville, Marcellos, Vestal, Janes, etc, etc.. none of the good ones really hit the mark for "casual".

Bunch of the rest are chains, or plate lunch places.

I enjoy La Fonda, but I would never suggest an out of towner go there. It's really just a local hangout, nostalgic kinda place.

Same as somewhere like Pizza Village, Deanos, Judice Inn, etc...

But, I get your point, there aren't a ton of casual dinner options, most of the good dinner spots are more expensive and it appears the OP might be wanting to avoid that.
