A bit of a twist from the average best of lists for the area. I love the Best Stop boudin. But honestly, their smoked pepper jack sausage might be my favorite.

I'm gonna be in Lafayette this weekend, and was planning on making some stops on the way home. And since I can buy Best Stop boudin at Rouse's, I'm planning on trying some of y'all's other recommendations.

I'm thinking about stopping at Billy's, Kartchners, and maybe Best Stop. Might even do Don's or Johnson's (though I'm open to a different place). I'm gonna get smoked boudin from all of them. After that, I'm open to suggestions.

Best non boudin sausage?

Best tasso?

Best andouille?

Best whatever the hell to toss in a pot of gumbo that isn't seafood?

Anything else I have to bring home to blow some people's mind?

I always tell people to get either the maple syrup and/or cream cheese/jalapeno boudin roll ups from Kartchners. Everyone under the sun does a pepperjack cheese variant but the others are a nice sweet/spicy mix that are my favorite thing there. Get yourself a couple fresh ones from the counter but you can also get some frozen ones out the cooler, I'm told they do well in an air fryer.

Burger on the jalapeno sausage cheese bread bun. It's much better than it looks, the seasoning of the meat is perfect.

Never had it but there's a place in Laffy that sells Lejeune's from Ville Platte.

Hoping to pickup some my next time through.

I always grab a crab meat pie from Kartchners. Gotta let it cool down after you pull it from the oven or it's a little runny. But delicious

Looks good to me, at first I thought it was a biscuit, which was fine with me.

This will never make sense to me…What’s wrong with just eating the damn boudin? I love rice, I sure don’t need cheese on it…ever.

If you made the product with a smoked sausage I’d murder it…but with boudin I just don’t understand.

Cheese and boudin are not to be mixed.
