Ruth's was spectacularly underwhelming a couple of weeks ago. I have heard Poseiden has a pretty good steak, but I have never had it. The strip at Mazen is good. I am not sure what you consider the Lafayette area, but El Camino in Abbeville has a good one. Personally, I prefer to cook my own steaks.

Ruth’s. Because simply upvoting the first comment wouldn’t be clear enough apparently.

Texas Roadhouse is best budget steak to eat with fries and a beer.

I also heard Hebert's in Kaplan had a good one. It has been there forever.

Ribeye cap, rare (my preference) or medium rare at Cafe Josephine. Get it with sauteed spinach instead of green beans, as the cook then throws the spinach into the juices the steak is cooking in.

As someone mentioned above, Poseidon's also has a really good steak, though I prefer getting their lamb chops. They are excellent.

Thx! Heberts is very good. Little seasoning. Cooked perfectly. I have yet to try Ruth’s. I e always heard they are good but severely overpriced.

I typically love to cook my own, however I’d like a good date night option.

El Caminos steak is delicious, if you know the chef is there. Typically there for lunch.

Steak is hands down my favorite food. I cook it at least 3 times per week.

definitely disagree with this. steaks there are mediocre unless something has changed recently.

Vestal. Love that place.

Haven’t been to Ruth’s in years, but it was solid last time.

Been meaning to go there for a couple years now. Yet, every time I'm in town, I go elsewhere.

Go man. The food is excellent. The change up the menu also. For instance steamboat which was mentioned earlier has had those
Same canned carrots with honey for 20 years now.
