Wow. Didn’t expect this at all.

Owners of Marjie’s/Seafood Sally’s and Carmo are teaming up to do a seafood market, cocktails, raw bar, gumbo, poboys etc.

They closed a few weeks ago.

Excited for the new fish market. Not many great options in the city right now.

Any reason why? They always seemed to do good business.

Didn't hear a reason. I imagine rising rents have to hurt. Could be like Parrains uptown, just tired.

Odd they didn't post anything on Social Media? How'd you get the news Bunch?

It's crazy how there basically isn't one legitimate seafood market located within the city proper.

They just had a scathing health report I think, but doubt that’s why they closed.

I saw a post by Ian McNulty on Facebook this morning. I think there's an article on nola.com.

That entire area has gone down hill quickly over the last three years. I hope all of those places shut down until something is done about the crime.

I remember when that business was called K-Jean Seafood when they first occupied that corner of Carrollton and Bienville.

Been around for decades and looks to have a great business as it always seems busy when I pass by it.

bullshite. There's tons of businesses in that area of Carrollton and Bienville. There's probably 15 or more places to eat, pet store, Office Depot, 2 supermarkets just to name a few open daily for business.

Brocato's has longer lines than I've ever seen out the door, every time I try to go or even just pass there.

I am talking about the crime. Linda Frickey, shootings, car jackings, etc.. I lived on the corner of Bienville and Scott for three years.

So your solution to combat crime is to shut businesses down?… So blame business owners? Shut down Venezia’s? Shut down Angelo Brocato’s? These places have been on this block for almost 70+ yrs.. Bold strategy
