Got one for Christmas
Anyone have one?
If so, which is better half shell or shucked?

I had one of those, we used it with shucked oysters. It works pretty well but it was hard to clean.

I have an old aluminum oyster grill pan that still works great for shucked oysters. I would dread cleaning a black iron one.

I’ve got 2 cast iron oyster pans that are ceramic coated. Use them for shucked oysters and they work great. The coating makes them very easy to clean as well.

I tried many by combining 2, 3 or 4 shucked oysters per slot. Cleanup was a nightmare on all of them. I finally found disposable aluminum crab shells to work the best because no clean up and fit flat on bbq pit. can find at most grocery stores.

Or for a cheaper option, I just bought two dozen of these. Spray with olive oil cooking spray prior to use, soak in a pot of soapy water after use, rinse, and dry. Put them on a jelly roll pan and run under the broiler when I’m in from hunting too late to fire off the grill.
