We just recently got an air fryer and have been impressed with it so far.

I am looking into things to cook in it besides the basic chicken tenders/wings/etc. and was wondering if you can do boudin balls in one.

We have a cast iron dutch oven, but I am wanting to use it to do a shrimp boil, and would love to have some boudin balls to go with it.

Is it possible? If so, does anyone have a recipe they'd be willing to share?

My buddy has been reheating/cooking frozen boudin in his and he says it's great, not sure if he's done balls or wraps though

They’re great for rehearing already made boudin balls (reheating anything is what they’re best at IMO), but they suck for “frying” anything dredged in flour.

I suppose you could start them off pan frying the traditional eat in fat and finish in the air fryer. Might be the best of both worlds that way.

Like others have said if you are talking about heating up some balls or wraps that you bought from the store it’s great. I would thinking it wouldn’t be so good if you were making from scratch.

Yeah, from what I read, you can't just batter something and expect it to cook right in an air fryer.

I've cooked fried shrimp, oysters, chicken etc .. it may not be fried in oil but it comes out crispy and similar texture.

You can and you can't. We did chicken tenders in ours the other night. Did your typical drench and dredge. Put them in the cooking basket, sprayed the top of them with a bit of Pam cooking spray, and they went about 6 minutes. Flipped them, sprayed that side with Pam and another 6 minutes.

They weren't bad. Not the same as normal "fried" chicken, but as good, probably better (and certainly quicker) than oven baked fried chicken.
