What is a good flavor of Brandy to try and what is a good brand?

De lord Armagnac is really good. Especially the “Napoleon”. The 25 year is also really good.
A great brandy can easily be had for <$50.

Following up on this. This year, I’ve really built up my home bar. My wife and I would go out for drinks every weekend, but with COVID we just do it at home now.
I need to get some Cognac for the bar. I’ve never bought it before, but I know that there is VS, VSOP, and XO - which all signify age. The stuff can vary wildly in price.
What’s a good brand you like for cocktails?

IMO, it all depends on your use. If you are making cocktails and egg nog or milk punch get a low end Hennessy etc. For the snifter I like Pierre Ferrand, Frapin or Kelt in the XO’s

Decided to go with H by Hine based on another recommendation. I poured a small snifter and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying it in some cocktails.
