Care to narrow the scope of Asian food down?
Japanese? Korean? Vietnamese? Chinese? Thai?
There are a lot of different types of Asians and they may all look alike to you, but trust me they are different.

Okay, something Thai or Chinese. Something chili-centric.

What are you marinating? Most store-bought stuff in this category will be loaded with sodium and sugar (with minimal flavor).

Chicken thighs or breast. Just wanna be able to make quick simple stir fry with some green beans and carrots.

Mix up some soy sauce, ginger and garlic powder. Better than store marinade in many instances.

Dark brown sugar, soy sauce, mirin/sake, chili paste (optional), fish sauce, shallots (optional), sesame oil (a little), neutral oil, garlic, green onion when done. Delicious stuff.

Most of the chile flavor on asian cooking is coming from chiles added to dish and often at end of cooking not through marinating.
Look up velveting. Do that and then stir fry and add chile at end. Will get a better result

Go to Golden City Asian Market on N Arnoult, pick something off the shelf. They have dozens.
