Smoking is a form of preservation for raw meat.
Smoked cooked meat could sit out for a week and be fine.

Yeah I was, it’s completely cooked smoked vacuumed sealed from Mosleys Meat here in mobile, (which btw cost the same as they did last year) They have them lying out on tables etc there not refrigerated at the meat market, so I was just wondering because they were already smoked and cooked did they need to be refrigerated at all. Tried to call them and ask but waited too long.

Yeah they really are the bomb. Great people too. Years ago the use to do deer meat etc too in the back, but you have the bomb for that in Baldwin County

This is retarded. A smoked turkey is not a cured for weeks with salt and smoked like bacon or ham. This will certainly go rancid and even if you can’t smell it off the bat the meat sitting in the temperature danger zone will cause bacteria to grow and get someone sick. Vacuum sealed completely helps keep oxygen out but eventually it’s going to start turning. Put the damn bird in the fridge.

I’m surprised some of you have made it this long without killing yourselves.

Before they're killed, butchered and smoked, turkeys run around all over the place unrefrigerated. They seem fine to me.

size It has nothing to do with thickness. It’s temperature over time that causes bacteria to thrive. Warm temperatures are where bacteria do best. If anything the thickness would help retain temperature which would help bacteria grow. Y’all tryna hurt people up in here
And just think about the skin being loose and holding a film of warm moist nutritious greases against the flesh, which now is being penetrated with bacteria, mold, viruses where the ligaments and tendons as well as vessels have contracted and expanded in the cooking leaving gaps and air pockets for bio critters to thrive.
Yep, leave that on the counter till Thursday and you will have a pretty effective biological bomb to combat the various warring factions around the world.

Sorry you are such a miserable prick

I would just stick it in the fridge. Yes, smoked is better than uncooked, but it hasn’t been cured like other meats that may be able to sit out.
