I got a crockpot recently that I have not yet used. I have a pack of chicken leg quarters in the freezer. Anybody ever done these in the crockpot?

Oh yeah, throw your favorite sauce on them and get ready to eat. My mom was a teacher and we had crockpot food a lot. Quarters in a crockpot was one of my favorites.

Love smoked leg quarters. But always finish in the oven to make extra tender. May try the crockpot thing

Smoked is my favorite as well, but crockpot quarters just takes me back.
I use quarters a lot when making a big jambalaya or gumbo in my black pot

So just a simple salt, pepper, and sauce? Then set it and forget it?

If you leave it in too long you will get little pieces of bone everywhere.

I always find that chicken cooked in a crock pot has a strange texture.

To my knowledge, Yes, there are tons of recipes and websites dedicated to crockpot cooking. Just google it and it'll come up.
I actually never learned to make it, because my mom lives not far from us. She still makes it. (Yes I'm spoiled

She makes a chicken stew with cream of mushroom and bone in chicken breasts.

We buy lots of leg quarters first it is our favorite part of da chicken second its way cheap and we are poor. When we catch em on sale for .39$/lb or so we will buy 4 bags. I clean and cut them into 3 parts legs thighs and backs. If ya dont like the backs they make good crawfish/crab bait.
We freeze em in qt meal size bags and they are great in the crock pot in like a bunch of different ways
Also we smoke a whole sack then freeze em. Great that way too in beans or gumbos etc.
Easy croc pot season the chicken how ya like it slice onion oln top of it and dump in a can or 2 of cream of ______ soup. Bon apetite!!

In January my Rousse's had the 10# bags for $2.90. I smoked 70 pounds and then pulled and froze it. Now when I need chicken I have it ready to add to what ever I'm cooking, jambalaya, gumbo, etc. somehow I have misplaced my crockpot. May have to buy another

Smoke for 3 hours and then in oven at 350 for 2. The leg bone pulls out clean.
