May be going there tomorrow. Looks like a nice setting on the deck.
Food the same as BR?
Any opinions?
Thanks

I haven’t been to the one in BR but eat at the one in Covington almost every week. The Swamp Bucket is a good Hurricane-like drink. The blackjack oysters are great (chargrilled with cheese and bacon). My favorite on the menu is the BBQ shrimp, which to me tastes more like most restaurants’ shrimp & grits dish than BBQ shrimp. The crawfish stew with grits is very tasty also. Both gumbos are good. Awesome boudin eggrolls appetizer. Very good red beans & rice though the sausage is sparse. Good fried shrimp and stuffed shrimp - fried oysters aren’t great (too small and small portions). Good fried catfish. The stuffed potato is good.
My usual:
Swamp Bucket & blackjack oysters to start
cup of Crawfish stew
Chimes boat load w/ stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp, catfish...and substitute the stuffed potato instead of fries
Or
Swamp bucket and blackjack oysters
Boudin eggrolls app
BBQ shrimp entree

It’s one of the best outdoor setups for dining anywhere. The food is about what you’d expect from any chimes: good at what they do but nothing to make you want to come back. It’s a good time, and you should go. Between the decent food and amazing scenery it’s hard to beat.

Chimes Covington has the best outdoor seating and you can show up in a paddleboat. Food is the same at each of the locations but each one does get a few different beer options.

Love that place. Wish I could eat there every day.

People are saying the one on Coursey has turned real hood over the last couple of years.

Awesome set up to crush some beers, food is solid and the same as all the other locations

Been there many times. Food is unmemorable. Not bad/not good. Atmosphere makes up for it. Table wait is too long on the weekends for what they serve.
