Costco Prime tenderloin sale

Not sure if it is nation wide but I assume it is. Costco has Prime and Choice tenderloin on sale with $10 off each pack at the register.
The price came out to $13.94 lb for the USDA Prime I bought. Bought a pack of Choice that came to $11.69/lb.
This will keep the wife happy as I chow down on my ribeyes.

I saw this Thursday at my local Costco, so I would assume it's nationwide. Be nice if they did this for the whole ribeye and strip loin roasts. I only make a whole tenderloin roast about twice a year, and I don't care for filet mignon if I'm eating a steak.

What I do is buy a pack of Ribeyes and a pack of tenderloin then vacuum seal one ribeye and one tenderloin together. That way when I’m cooking I can grab a pack that has my steak and my wife’s steak in the same pack. I can’t really tell the steak has been frozen when using the vacuum sealer.

I use this thing for all kinds of stuff, including steaks. pork chops, and chicken. Also works great on dishes where you usually have to make a big batch, like chili, spaghetti bolognese, etc.

Works real well on pulled pork. Just drop the frozen bag in boiling water for about 20 minutes and the BBQ tastes like it just came off the pit.

Is it whole tenderloin or cut filets?

Yep. I use that same technique for pot roast.

Either way, cut is better though because you can get smaller packages. It’s $10 off per package.

Picked up some prime ribeye cap steaks for $14.99 lb at Costco today. Never seen them that cheap. Also thought Costco was going to stop selling them.

Have you thought about wet aging them? Same process but just throw them in the fridge if you're going to eat them within the next 3-4 weeks. Smell goes a little off when wet aging but they sure taste good.
I wouldn't blame you for ignoring a random dude on an internet message board telling you to let your steaks sit in a fridge for 3-4 weeks so, by all means, please Google "wet aging" for more info.

Yea, I have not sent those in awhile at my local Costco. I can see why they would not want to sell them because they were taking the best part of the ribeye off of the steaks. At one time all of the prime ribeyes at my local Costco had the cap removed. Who the hell buys a ribeye with the cap removed?
Never really understood how you could cook the cap safely anyway. When you take the cap off and pinwheel it and then cook it rare there is a lot of material that has been exposed to bacteria that never reaches safe temps. That would be no different than cooking ground beef to rare temps. I have been inside to many slaughter houses and seen what goes on to try that.

Was this yesterday only or is it still going on today?
Posted on 2/2/20 at 12:27 pm to BigB0882
Think it may still be on sale today. I see it on instacart.

Still on today, I picked some up earlier. Also they had beef plate ribs again, which I haven’t seen in 6 months.
ETA: this was in Lafayette.

Does the Costco where you live have a liquor store? The one in Huntsville does not. Only wine. They are supposed to be adding one but have not started it yet. I have seen some nice stuff on the internet at some Costco’s.

I could buy like 1400 handles of charter for the price of that 50 year

I know we have wine, haven’t really looking thoroughly though.

That is an absolute fricking steal for prime tenderloin, if it is legit prime

My costco a couple weeks ago had their Peeled Beef Tenderloin for $40 off the package. Couldnt believe it. Only bought one (should have gotten more) But got a 5.5 LB tenderloin that was normally $87 for $47....
