I live in Dallas proper and the only Crawfish I've had have been dogshit... and that might be generous. I boil my own whenever I want some.

Can't speak for the suburbs though... Maybe Plano/Frisco area has some Louisiana transplant boiling good crawfish.

Heads or tails and bayou cat had the best I've had in the area but the former just does events and the latter is all the way in Arlington.

I've heard good things about Cajun tailgaters at the farmers market but haven't tried them.

Twisted Tails in McKinney for live. They also have a restaurant but I've never eaten there.

Don't they sprinkle seasoning on the outside?

I've had good boiled crawfish at Half Shells in Snider Plaza but I think they season after. Their overall seafood is really good too.

Half shells and their parent restaurant fish city grill sprinkle after. I wasn't a fan.

Nate's and their turbo seasoning makes the worst crawfish I've ever had. Their sprinkle shite has parsley in it. Wtf

I'm not an expert or really even a fan, but my friend enjoyed Hook line and sinker. Very simple down home restaurant

Just place an order a few days out. They bring in crawfish several times a week

They are separate from Fish city. It was the original concept restaurant for fish city but when the partners decided to expand, one partner wanted no part of a chain so he kept Half Shells as an independent.

I like Hook Line and Sinker for fried catfish. They do it well but I wish they would season their cornmeal. Probably too much to ask in Dallas.

Hmm, weird. The website for half shells is contained within the fishcitygrill.com domain. The Snyder plaza and legacy locations show up on there.

Hmmmm.....the manager for Half Shells hangs out at Lakewood Landing and we've talk to him a few times. That's where my info comes from. But I have heard the same story from people that used to work there.

Yeah they built one at skillman and walnut hill when they opened that sprouts. I'm never in that area though, and about to be out completely.
