I moved away from there nearly 30 years ago. I don't know all the seafood/Cajun places like I did before I moved.

Any recommendations for a place that soaks instead of dusts?

Rubba Boot is great crawfish if there’s a short line, and the boxes offer easy clean up. But the line is crazy sometimes.

We got T-Johnny’s on E. 70th for Mother’s Day and they were really good- I could taste the lemon in their boil, so if you don’t want a strong citrus, it’s not for you.

Wanted to bring this thread back up as I'm pondering the same question. Big emphasis on a place that soaks their crawfish.

Besides the above, Chuck Wagon on E. Bert Kouns and Crabby Crawfish on Youree south of LSUS have both opened and gotten really good reviews. I had Chuck Wagon when they were still a food truck and they were good. Have not tried Crabby Crawfish yet, but I plan to this year.

I was up that way during the great crawfish famine of 2024. Beaujax had them regularly.

Beauxjax is not good. Rub a boot dust them. Kim’s seafood is good this early. Shavers is good also if they have them, also Crawdaddys on Mansfield road

Born and raised in BR and have been in Shreveport/Bossier since '97. I've tried them all and Bergeron's(if they're in the crawfish business this year) has the best boiled crawfish in town. David who runs the Shreveport location is from Livonia and knows what he's doing. His son Drew runs the Bossier location.

No dusting at Bergeron’s.

Call and check with them first. I usually pick up 12-15 pounds and eat it at the house.

As mentioned already, Shavers and Bergerons are both good and Rubba Boot is over rated.

Also, short drive over to Minden is Crawfish Hole #2 is pretty good.

Also check out Maryland’s Place in Shreveport. No boiled crawfish but great hole in the wall joint offering up great traditional Louisiana dishes. Owner from New Orleans and was displaced by Katrina. Ended up opening restaurant and staying here.

Shaver’s on Youree Dr.
But the best is Crawfish Hole in Dixie Inn. Bush is the Master Boiler.

It's Marilynn's Place and the owner is from Shreveport, but moved to New Orleans as an adult. His family is still here, which is why he returned here after Katrina.

But yes, it's a cool hole in the wall with a great shrimp remoulade and fried catfish.

As we speak, Rubba Boot has a line half a mile down Youree Drive for their opening day- $36 for a 3lb box. No thanks

We've eaten at Crawdaddy's kitchen quite a bit when visiting up there. It's South going towards Stonewall, but great food and authentic atmosphere especially if you are eating in the screened in section where they boil. OMG the smells.
