Dave Portnoy gives Schlittz & Giggles pizza very low score

Review
For all the pizza lovers out there, this is probably the least shocking thing ever. Everyone has a type of pizza they like, but I think it's widely agreed upon that the pizza in Baton Rouge sucks. I just wish one pizza guy from the northeast realized he could open a place down here and just dominate the pizza scene.
Update: City Slice got a 6.2

Pretty funny, considering he gave Red Zeppelin a great score, and they use frozen pizza crust.
Schlitz is my favorite. Lots of good memories associated and the taste is great. A tiny bit greasy, but it's not overwhelming. Rocca probably the best pizza in terms of quality, but Portnoy likes pizza that looks like it was made with the armpit sweat of an Italian grandfather.

terrible take.
Don't generally like Portnoy , but he isn't wrong on this review.

Idiotic response.
There was no review. Are you his husband?

Honestly surprised it got a 4.2. Should be much lower.

Yeah. Your opinion on pizza seems legit.
Definitely trust your opinion of pizza over a guy who travels the country/world doing nothing but pizza reviews.
Hope you arent being serious.

I never said Schlitz was amazing. I enjoy it. I know the local sentiment about it.
I think it's hilarious that people agree Dave gives a better score to a pizza that is already prefrozen.
Guy goes all around the world doing a shite job on a regular basis doesn't make him anything other than really good at doing a shite job. He is far from infallible.

Schlitz Pizza is a snack/meal for when you are drunk and nothing more. And that’s fine.
It’s not like they charge ten bucks for a slice.

where was this made into a red zeppelin vs schlitz review ? Other than in your mind of course.
Its ok to admit when you are wrong. Unless you are always right.
I used to eat at Schlitz downtown and enjoyed it, but cmon man… its far from world class pizza. Get a grip.

My point is that there should be no reason to listen to a guy who "reviews pizzas" when he gives a half frozen pizza the light of day.

Some guy named Barry from New York City came down here and did just that. Can’t remember the name of the place but it was on Jefferson Highway close to Essen Lane. He ended up on Restaurant Rescue or one of those shows. Didn’t last more than a year or two.
Edit:
The name of the restaurant was Mama Della’s and the show it was featured on was Restaurant Impossible

I wouldn't call a sub 7.0 score the "light of day". I mean that's right there with 380 other ordinary pizza's that he's scored in the 6's.

That pizza looked disgusting

That guys problem wasn't his pizza, his problem was he had no idea how to treat employees and customers. I went to his place multiple times because the pizza was good, but every time I was there he either got into a yelling match with employees or with customers. Dude would get flat out upset if you wanted to customize a pizza.
