Defrosting Meat in the Sun

Wife laid out some frozen pre-marinated pork in the sun today. It was still in the package, she put it out at 2 p.m., retrieved it at 5 p.m., and it was in direct sun for the first two hours. 85 degree day here, no clouds.
When she brought it inside, it was warm to hot to the touch. She throws it in the fridge and says she'd be ready for me to grill it in an hour.
I threw a fit, and have always been disgusted at this practice. She says it will be fine. She's no dummy (Registered Nurse), but this drives me up the wall.
A quick google says this is an unhealthy way to thaw meat. Can someone enlighten me as to why? Should I be worried? My plan it to grill it for her and grill some Louisiana sausage for me. I'll feel terrible if she gets sick, but she's so stubborn that I'm done challenging her on this.

Do you have a large life policy on her?

She's a nurse not a food expert. Throw that shite away.

Yeah throw it away, and feed her the sausage.

When raw food sits between 40-140 degrees that is the prime temperature for bacteria growth. The best way to thaw something out would be in the refrigerator. If you need to power thaw use cold running water.

It's on the grill as I pluck this, broseph.

Thank you all for the replies. I provided her with a disclaimer when I was heading outside with the hunks of bacteria.
I'll report back in an hour on her health, hopefully it won't be from the ER.

I wouldn't want her as a nurse!

No way, man. Put it in a pan of cold tap water for 15-20 minutes and then back into the fridge till ready to cook. Safe and easy.

She lives another day!
Leftovers are in a bag in the fridge and I'm still not eating them...

the big rule is that meat should not be between 40*-140* for more than four hours unless cooked.
