Going to be in Covington this evening for dinner and just looking for a place you all would recommend. Pretty open on cuisine.

Price range? Lots to choose from in Covington.
Desi Vega- best steak on the northshore
Dakota
Tavi
Meribo - pretty good happy hour prices on drinks and wood fired pizza

Nothing too too nice , but maybe around $30-$40 per meal is fine.

Has anyone tried "The Gloriette"? Oxlot 9 used to be great and it's a good space with added bonus of being attached to the Southern Hotel.

gloriette is not good
OP in your price range i would choose either busters place (seafood & oysters), the greyhound (pizzas & Mediterranean) or meribo (pizza and pasta). if you want a burger or sandwich, the food counter at the beer garden s very good (and its a cool place to hang)

The Gloriette got a new chef back in Sept (Alex Farrell, decent resume, most notably of Sylvain). Haven’t been since he took over but the previous regime really dropped the ball. Service was laughably bad and the menu was forgettable. Not even close to Oxlot quality

Drinks at the Southern and walk over to Tavi is the play.

For a steak dinner? And on the northshore?

That price range anywhere for good steaks will be tough

New Orleans Food & Spirits has always been good to us for food and atmosphere. The women also like to browse the antique stores across the street.

I'm not crazy about Boulevard.

I'm pretty sure the OP didn't request a steak place specifically.

Yeah, that will be tough while he's out of town on a trip.
