Gambinos is decent Italian-American comfort food and easy to walk from downtown Fairhope.

I almost forgot about them. We’ve been there a couple of times. Good place to take the family as well. Our wait staff were excellent and the food was a good change of pace from what you normally get near the coast.

Another good one is Plane and Level. I haven’t been since they shifted to their current Italian menu, but everything I’ve had there has been delicious.

Good refs from all.

I would also throw Plane and Level into the mix for an upscale dining dinner experience.

I live in Fairhope. Wash House is hands down one of the best. Just a few miles east of the Grand Hotel is Jesse’s. Those two are the best around here. It’s where the locals eat.

Looks like a lot of my favorites have already been mentioned. I didn’t see anyone mention Tamara’s but I like it, especially for brunch on Sunday. Master Joe’s has good sushi. I like Panini Pete’s for hamburgers. I don’t eat a lot of burgers but theirs are good. Locals has good burgers too because they have exotic meats. I like the lamb chops at Sage. I ate at Kingfisher and it’s owned by the group that owns Chimes and Parrains. I was so happy to be able to eat their BBQ Drum without having to drive to Baton Rouge. I’ve had some good meals at R Bistro, but it’s been years since I’ve eaten there so I’m not sure how good it is right now because chefs come and go.

I saw several mention Gambino’s. Oddly enough my favorite thing to eat there is a steak. Their Italian food there is so so, but their steaks are outstanding. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few places, but you got an accurate list of the better restaurants.

We’d go eat at Southwood a good bit for work dinners. Everyone has always loved what they got.
It’s really a great little restaurant.

Ate at Hope Farm last night and it was amazing. Everything we had was top notch. My daughter and I each had the short rib. My wife had the royal red pasta that she said was really good. My son had the wagyu burger.
They’ve got a martini cart that will make whatever kind of martini you want.

Jesse’s Saturday night was great too. The bone marrow butter option for the ribeye is an absolute must. I ordered it on the side instead of as a topping. The crawfish mac and cheese were outstanding.

Kingfisher Friday night has a really cool vibe. My wife’s entree was probably the best—pecan crusted drum. My son’s shrimp and grits were great too. I had the skin on drum which was ok—a little plain. Nice beer selection as you’d expect
