Will be in town one night by campus. Anything worth checking out?

What kind of food are you interested in? There are some options if you just walk along Dickson. If you're looking for something particular or of a certain quality level, you may need to drive a bit.
My wife and I were there for two days a little over a year ago. We split a deep dish pizza and a salad at Marley's for lunch, got some ramen and sushi at a sushi place (maybe Sushi 101?) for dinner, and had a nice brunch at Emelia's Kitchen the next morning (which does Mediterranean for lunch and dinner). All of those things were good for what we wanted, but not everyone likes deep dish or sushi.
There's also a nicer bar and restaurant inside the Inn at Carnall Hall, but I don't know if people who aren't staying at the Inn can dine there? They were hosting a wedding party one of the nights while we were there so we did the sushi instead.

Wasn’t looking for anything specific. Just a good spot or two. I’ve never been there before. Thank you for the recommendations.

We had a great meal at Bordinos on the way home from the CWS last June.

Hugo’s is a burger/sandwich/salad bar and grill in the basement of a building on Fayetteville Square. It’s very popular. Website has the menu.

If you only had one night and wanted the college town place to eat, this is the play.

I'll add one that is good food and goes back to my time at UofA in the late 80s. The OPO. It was a bar in the basement of the Fayetteville old post office and was a great spot. Now, it's Cheers at the OPO and renovated very nicely. They've also refinished the basement and you could walk down to look around. Pretty good eats and a very nice dining room upstairs. Just Google for their website which includes menu and drinks to see if it suits you. Other than that, you would enjoy Hugo's, Bordinos etc. Also mainstays of Fay.
The OPO, Downtown - it's not too stuffy as well.
** Nostalgia kicking in: it was a place you could see athletes every weekend. Once saw Todd Day get in a fight ( a lame one) there with Mayberry, Big O and other players dragging him out
Todd was a skinny stick w a hot head.

Hugo's is going to be the standard recommendation. Put your name in then go grab a drink and play some pinball at Pinpoint just up the street while you wait. If you don't want to play Pinball, head down the street to Maxine's for a drink which is a great bar.
Other downtown eateries of note:
Atlas (fine dining and daaaamnd good)
Tim's Pizza/West Mountain Brewing: pizza and beer. pretty standard.
Tula: high-end mexico city inspired cuisine. Solid.
Xuma: similar. More funky. More Oaxacan.
Feed and Folly: good patio. food is descent.
City Park: Outdoor dining (still downtown, but not on Block or Dickson). Fun food court style place with good eats and drinks. Very, very busy and fun when weather is good.
Leverett Lounge: over toward City Park side of things. excellent upscale in a casual atmosphere.
My new favorite downtown is Moff's Pizza, which is a new food truck outside Puritan (good coffee and beer selection). It's legit good pizza by the slice. He usually sells out by 8pm, though. Never fear, though, because there's a very good birria truck right next to it if Moff's is sold out.
Bordino's: upscale dining.
Emelia's: upscale dining, Mediterranean.
Doe's: Steaks and such.
Hammontree's: kind of a dump, but gourmet grilled chesses. soups, hot dogs.
Geraldi's: a little off downtown, but old red-checker tablecloth style Italian.

Was up there last October for a college visit with my oldest. We really enjoyed Theo’s. Food and service were top notch.

Not near campus but Pizzeria Ruby. A lot more than pizza.

I went to Hugos for the first time around Thanksgiving. Absolutely killer burger meal and great atmosphere.

It's hard to beat. Definitely be prepared to wait. They have an online "get in line" system where you can check how many people are waiting on a table and such, which is pretty good. If weather is nice, hanging outside is a great option. You can actually get your pizza to go, get drinks, and sit outside at picnic table if wait for inside table is too long and weather is good.
