Frozen boiled crawfish? Best way to

Re-cook them? My neighbor gave me some gator - easy - but he also gave me 10 pounds of frozen, already boiled crawfish. I need to act like I know what I'm doing but I've never had this situation. Should I just peel them and use the meat or can I smoke them and let people peel and eat?

If there is a way to make frozen whole boiled crawfish good to eat, that is news to me. I am not saying it isn't possible, I've just never seen it done. The one time someone served that to me they put the frozen crawfish in a basket and steamed them, but the results were inedible.
Good luck, maybe I'll learn something new.

Sauteed butter with some zat crab boil....then poured that over the crawfish, put them over charcoal till they were hot....came out pretty good.

I'd peel them and use the meat in s dip or sauce for a topping or in an omelet maybe. Lots of options with the tail meat.

I would take the heads off, if they are not already headless, and steam the tails in a large pot with about an inch of water.
I've frozen leftover boiled tails in zip lock bags in water. They will keep several months in the freezer and reheat quite well.

ALthough I have never heated up frozen boiled crawfish, I have heated up cold boiled a few times. The best way to do it is to put a diluted seasoned water in the pot and bring the water to a boil. After it boils let it sit for a few minutes, then dump in the crawfish and let soak for 3-4 minutes. Taste test to see if the crawfish has sucked in some of the juices. The main reason for a diluted seasoning mix is so that the crawfish don't get too salty/spicy. In your case, you really don't know how they were boiled seasoning wise in the first place.

I had a friend/cook at a marina bar in Alabama tell me they are having a crawfish boil Saturday and lay a 10 pound block of frozen crawfish on the bar......wtf
