Frozen crawfish tails

I know, I know, I hate using frozen seafood, and rarely do so, but I came up with a new dish to bring to tailgates and I want to try to make it a little better. It's like a crawfish/yellow rice casserole, but when I use the frozen crawfish tails it tastes so fishy (IMO--however, everyone else ate the stuff up in a few minutes) in the casserole. Is there a good way to get that fishy taste out of there? I thought of maybe rinsing the tails real well with water before and then someone told me to try boiling them first for a sec.

First, I agree that Chinese crawfish are awful. If you used those, that would explain the problem.
I use frozen tails frequently when they aren't available fresh. Just depends on the quality as to whether they are good or not. Make sure there are no crystals in the bag or air pockets. Makes a big difference. Find a reputable brand. I stock up at Chez Francois in Lafayette. They are sealed well with no air and they process them onsite. They freeze them pretty quickly so that don't age. Viets are pretty good as well and there's another brand I trust, but the name escapes me right now. Pay attention to packaging, though, is the point.

The only brand I can usually find around here is Boudreaux's

Is that a Louisiana brand or Chinese? I know Bernard's is Chinese, but I thought I'd seen another imposter out there.
You may have just gotten a bad package. Happens sometimes.

Unfortunately, we don't have an Albertson's down here. We only have Rouse's, Winn-Dixie, Wal-Mart, and Choice

Well you can try to see if Desporte Seafood or Quality Poultry and Seafood would sell you some Louisiana Crawfish Tails.
