Not looking for a specific cuisine, just something good.

Brett's or Roegels for BBQ.
Steak fajitas at Lupe's
There's an El Tiempo which I've never been to but which used to get good reviews for the original Houston location.
Beyond that there are 41 million Mexican restaurants nearby. And a whole Asian Town north of I-10 and east of Grand Parkway.

Lupe Tortilla is fricking trash…go to Katy’s Asia Town.

The Katy one is bad. Even their hot sauce sucks.
We used to go to Babins alot until they raised their prices and shrunk their portions. We frequent that El Tiempo when we drive into town. If you are adventurous, give Katy Asian Town a shot. Parking is a bitch though close to any of those good places. We’ve tried to go to dinner at Phat multiple times and give up due to parking.
And the Anthonies folks would cringe if they knew people were saying they are located in Brookshire. Its in Simonton. We enjoy going there now that they take reservations. Go later so all the Fulshear people with their little kids are gone.

We love Phat Eatery. Good food, and they make a pretty nice Old Fashioned as well.
Yeah, parking can be a circus, and getting a table for a party of 4 to 5 can involve a good wait. Someone needs to open up a bar in one of the other spots a couple doors down to have drinks while on the 45 minute wait.

I don't know if I'd call it trash, but certainly never on my list of Houston-area TexMex places to go.

if you want the best deep dish chicago style pizza you have ever had, there is a place maybe 3 or 4 miles south of I-10 off Mason Road called Big Z's.
Its a hole in the wall sports bar restaurant with some decent draft beer with multiple TV's for a small little place. The regular pizzas are also fantastic, my favorite is the "Godfather" which has some kind of dressing on it and also there is a Greek Pizza but I get the white sauce on the side instead on the pizza itself.
But the Chicago Pizza is awesome, it does take like 45 mins to cook so prepare to drink a few beers and watch some TV but again its a whole in the wall so don't know what you want as far as an experience but I love that place!
Ray's mexican restaurant, also off Mason but maybe a mile South of I10 has best margerittas and food is every bit as good as anything that cost twice as much

I like Tobio, ate there this week and is always fresh and good.
First time this week eating at Harvest Kitchen and Bakery and I highly recommend it. Awesome breakfast/lunch spot. Closes at 2

I too have only eaten steak fajitas at Lupe's. Maybe only 4X in a decade. And only 1X at a non-Katy site. They have always been great.
If someone wants to trash the steak fajitas at Lupe's, then fine. Tell us where to find better steak fajitas in Katy.

I’ll second Rays. It’s such a gem. The food is reasonably priced and consistently good.
I’ll also be specific about Katy Asian town - Corner 99 has some delicious food. Particularly pho and grilled pork spring rolls.
