My son has to play baseball at Hahnville High on Saturday and Destrehan High on Sunday. We're not from the area but always like getting a good meal when we're out of town. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

How about Truckfarm Tavern in St Rose or St Rose Tavern (Pugenes) in ironically New Sarpy.
I haven't been to TruckFarm but I think it's the guy from Cow Bell's new venture.

Those two--Truck Farm Tavern and St Rose Tavern in New Sarpy--are my first two recs, both are across the river and a 15 minute drive from HHS. Also on that side of the river is the Seafood Pot, boiled stuff and poboys.
If you need closer/quicker, El Paso in Boutte/Luling is passable TexMex. Pretty much everything else on the Westbank side is forgettable or fast food. Take your pick from Dominos, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Sonic, TacoBell, Subway, Wendy's, Waffle House, IHOP, Popeyes. Zydecos was a viable option but it burned down two weeks ago.
I'm a resident, and the food situation makes me sad.

The restaurant at Cypress Lakes Country Club (formerly Ormond CC) is open to the public. Also, the sports bar by McDonald's in the shopping center at Airline and Ormond Blvd. has good burgers and bar food.

Taste of Tokyo in Ormond. Some of the best sushi around.

Truck Farm is legit. They even have some decent draft beer.
Uchi Sushi is good as well as Taste of Tokyo.

Pretty sure it's open on weekends-- i would recommend rye canteen. People I have gone with recently said they couldn't believe it was in luling. It's a pretty good new sandwich/po-boy/salad place

So we got rained out today and didn't make it to Hahnville. Where should we look around the Destrehan area for tomorrow evening?
