Merry Christmas everyone. I've been pondering a few holiday cocktails to prep for this year for the family, I'm thinking this year I'll go with one of these:

Autumn Old Fashion

White Cranberry Cosmo

Apply Cider Spritz

I see the aged egg nog thread and I'm intrigued about making some home made egg nog also. I'll also be looking for a recipe for something hot in case it's cold for Christmas this year. Thinking mulled wine or hot toddy.

Does anyone here have a go-to Christmas / winter cocktail recipe they'd like to share?

I've been aging my eggnog since July

Excited to share it with my family, I sampled a few jars of it and it is good.

Someone here introduced me to this a few years back. Reminds me, I need to make some. I have some Spanish vermouth flip top wine bottles that it will be great to store in.

We googled a chocolate & peppermint martini recipe last year that became completely addicting. I was drinking them out of my Marty Moose glass.

First, we prepared the glass with a little drizzle of chocolate syrup.

1 ounce 30 proof or 60 proof* peppermint schnapps (or white Creme de Menthe)
½ ounce** vodka
1 ½ ounces Creme de Cacao
1 ½ ounces heavy cream
Peppermint candies and grenadine, for the rim (optional)

I posted this last year, and was fortunate enough to enjoy it again at a friend's thankgiving last week. It's still good!

Thanksgiving (Bourbon) Punch

Heat 1 cup packed light brown sugar, 1 cup water, 3 (3") cinnamon sticks, and 4 star anise in a small saucepan over med-high. Cook, stirring often, until sugar dissolves and simmer 5 minutes. Cool and chill.

Combine 8 cups chilled apple cider, 750 ml Champagne or PResecco, 2 cups bourbon (or 2.5), 1 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, 1 cup of the simple syrup from above.

Top with 10 thin orange slices, 6 thin apple slices, and 1 cup frozen cranberries, and spices from simple syrup. Serve over ice.

I think someone mentioned the "Noble Beast" cocktail on this board. LINK

It's a coffee/espresso type cocktail.

THE NOBLE BEAST RECIPE

1 oz. (30 ml) Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 oz. (30 ml) espresso or cold brew concentrate*
1/2 oz. (15 ml) rich Demerara syrup (2:1)
1 whole egg

Instructions

Dry shake for 10 seconds, wet shake for 10-15 seconds. Double strain, serve up in glass of your choice, claret glass recommended. Grate the coffee bean over top as garnish.

Notes

Espresso is preferred by the creator. Cold brew concentrate is given as an alternative if espresso is not an option.

Stole this from the instagram account of a boutique bitters company from Mexico City. Added the fee foam to mimic a cocktail from a tapas bar here near the big chicken.

couple dashes aromatic bitters
1.5 oz black cherry juice (or sub pomegranate juice)
1 oz cherry liqueur
1 oz mezcal
.5 oz fresh lime juice
couple dashes fee foam/aqua faba/egg white

dry shake

add ice, shake again for dilution

serve in a coupe.

garnish with dried orange slice.

SG’s Bourbon Milk Punch

This will make a gallon’s worth and is our go-to family Christmas drink.

5th of bourbon (I usually use Buffalo Trace)
7 cups milk
5 cups half n half
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg

Combine all ingredients and mix well, pour in gallon jug and refrigerate. Shake well between servings (nutmeg will settle to the bottom).

Yea, more like a single cocktail and move on to something cheaper.

It was very tasty, like a chai tea kind of taste but different. If that makes any sense

rosemary-thyme infused simple syrup

I was at Pogo earlier in the week, a new cocktail bar in Birmingham. Had a cocktail Laissez-faire: rosemary, thyme, lavender, lemon and Easy sparkling water (hemp THC). It was very good.

Just made some as well.
Really nice, especially if you’re looking for an alternative to eggnog this time of year.
