How long to boil crabs

get water to rolling boil, drop in crabs and cook for 12 minutes, turn off the fire and lift crabs out of water for 5 minutes (to let water cool down enough to stop the cooking process) then drop crabs back in the still hot water for 30-45 minutes depending on how full they are because very full crabs need a longer soak.

i just lift the basket and tilt it at 45 angle on top of pot after cooking so its easier, then you just drop it back in to soak

10 - 11 minutes of boiling. You can drop a 8lb bag of ice in your pot to cool it down for soaking or spray the sides of the pot with a hose.
