Go to fresh pickens and get a sack of green Peanuts. 35#s for about 40$. Grab a big plastic jar of the zatarrains crab boil powder, as well as a small jar of the liquid crab boil.
Fill up your crawfish pot with water. Dump in all the seasoning. Dump in the sack of peanuts. Turn the burner on. Once you get it to a boil, let boil for 3.5 hours. Taste and make sure they are smushy. Let soak for 30/45 min-pull out a few every now and then to check the flavor. Dumped into icechest then we ate til we were sick.

We added mushrooms near the end. The peanuts and the shrinks came out absOlutely fabulous. You can freeze in freezer bags. Or feed the neighborhood like we did

Got a 35# sack and some crawfish seasoning. Really nice looking peanuts. Do I need anything else? Anyone have a dependable boil/soak time?

I only cook 2 to 3 pounds at a time. Usually boil for 1.5 hours. Soak for 25 to 35 minutes.

Just start checking the peanuts at an hour or to see if done.
I just do a cup or 2 of salt. If I want the cajun flavor, I add a small amount of liquid crab boil.

I'm thinking 1.5/2 hours on the crawfish burner? Soak them all day? I cannot find any times online for a sack.

1.) Bring water to rolling boil.
2.) Before you put them in the water, crack one peanut open and eat it.
3.) Repeat step 2 until all peanuts are gone.

It takes a full football game, pre game- wash your peanuts, get your water boling, if you like them spicey do just like you do for crawfish, if not get it as salty as sea water, at kickoff add peanuts and bring to a boil, keep at a boil through half time and into the third qtr, then turn heat off and let soak till the game is over

Works every time

They are green peanuts. I'm sure that your idea would work just great.

Boiled peanuts kick arse. I couldn't imagine a football season without them.

I ate a few beFore they went in the pot. Chalky but good flavor

Billy chewed a few as well.

Eta-1 jar zatarrains seasoning, 1/2 small jar crab boil. boiling half the sack now-hoping the other half will be even better-like the second sack of crawfish

I don't think I've ever had boiled peanuts. Many of the Circle K stores in NOLA have a pot of boiled peanuts to scoop out of now. Anyone try these?
