How to get the burning from jalapenos off of your hands?

cut up a bunch of jalapenos earlier and my thumb is on fire, anyway to get rid of this? its basically right by my nails

Milk. Any liquid dairy product should sooth the pain.

Would be better off using
1) Soap (probably concentrated dish washing liquid)
2) If that doesn't work (it always did for me), maybe try rubbing cooking oil into it before using the soap.

try having that shite on your eyeball!!!!!!!!! i took my contacts out the day after i messed with jalapenos and i swear i though i was going to be blind for good.
i was in the shower pouring milk in my eyes to no avail!

Rub the burning area on your nose, the mucus will coat it and stop the burning.. JUST KIDDING.

I've had the same experience taking out my contacts after a crawfish boil. Not good.
