how to make cannabis infused oil

before we start, cannabis is not legal in many states either for medical or recreational use. Infuser beware…
coconut oil is an excellent choice for infusion, it has many culinary and medicinal uses and is shelf stable with a decently high smoke point. While is does impart a slight coconut taste to cooked goods, most people find it pleasant.
first you need cannabis flower. This is 1/2 oz (15 grams). Chop it up like you would any other dried herb.
put the chopped flower in tea bags that have a string to tie them off. This amount filled up three bags. Tie them well.
stuff the bags in a clean mason jar
fill the jar with coconut oil. I used a 23oz jar. If it’s solidified stick it in the microwave or just put in the sun till melted. You could also stuff the bags into the oil jar but you’ll probably make a mess. Tighten the lid.
put the jar into a pot of boiling water tall enough to lid with the jar inside. The water should be about an inch below the lid of the jar. Cover the pot tightly, stick some foil under the lid for a good seal.
lower the heat and let it simmer for three hours, check every hour and add water as needed. What you are doing is decarboxilating the THC in the cannabis to make it available to be absorbed by your body, and infusing the oil as the terpenes and cannabanoids are oil soluble.
once you’re done be very careful. The oil and the jar are over 200 degrees and if you frick up you could scald yourself. Carefully remove the jar (I use a pair of jar jaw pliers) and set it on a wood surface or a towel to cool. Do not put the hot jar on a cold countertop.
let it cool completely and then remove the bags, squeeze them as you take them out. You can save the bags in a separate jar if you want to infuse again.
keep the oil in a cabinet and use as needed. It’s an excellent skin and body oil, and you can add a teaspoon or so to nearly any savory dish. And obviously, you can make brownies LOL. Be careful at first and see how it affects you. You can pull some into a dropper and take orally as is (it tastes good).
cannabis is good for you and is natures palliative to many minor (and major) ailments. It’s an outstanding appetite stimulant and relieves pain and nausea.
Enjoy the gift.

I'm not chopping up a half O to season a jar of oil. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

shite that is awesome. my buddy at texas tech used to sauté it in butter then add to spaghetti then no one left the couch for a few hours

it’s much easier to meter your dose with edible oil. The 1/2 oz I used in 3 cups of oil means each tsp of the oil will dose at 15-20 mg THC depending on the strain of flower used. One tsp will get you pretty damn loopy but 1/2 tsp would be just right, for me anyway

If you don't live in a shite hole state, you can grow it each summer and will have more than you know what to do with.

I used to make it with clarified butter now I just buy already infused honey and add it to my tea.

honey can be infused in exactly the same way. Like coconut oil, shelf stable and doesn’t go rancid.

I am interested and started a topic on this site about it 2 years ago and it was nixed. I'm not anti. You don't have to be dick. I was saying literally I would not chop up a half ounce of perfectly good weed and put it in oil. I think that's a reasonable position for most people.

Coconut oil is great for sex lube. Wonder how this might affect the experience?

Just buy a LEVO. Got mine a few years ago - no mess, worrying about temps, or trying to dial in dosing.

A little different than my process but there are plenty of ways to skin a cat. I do suggest using a potato ricer to squeeze every ounce of oil possible from your bud and the bags you're using.

What are those big clumps of white stuff with the bags?

I’m sure it works but I need another small appliance like a another hole in my dick. Plus, the jar and boiling water are free

If you plan to make large batches on a regular basis, I'd get the Levo C.
The Levo Lux is nice, but it's just a slightly fancier version of the Levo II.
I have the Levo II with the potency pod. It's never failed me.
