Found this elsewhere on the net

Hoping to be up and running before the end of Lent. Not a guarantee but very likely. New facility will be on Jefferson Hwy near Wal-Mart. Same flavors as always. John Folse and Monica (of Crawfish Monica) will be helping with fillings. You're welcome.

How much did they cost before the fire?
EDIT: I watched a video about the fire and the Apple was .99 cents..

Hubig Pie Update
Thanks

We were talking about this yesterday at work and wondering when they were looking to open back up

I will believe it when I see it. If it happens, I wonder if they will make good on the deal they made with all of the people who gave them money from the last time they claimed they were going to reopen. They took in thousands and promised a case of pies to each person who donated. Then they didn’t open and just kept the money.
The real issue is going to be the equipment. I was told that it is going to be ultra expensive to replace the big friers (fryers?) that were lost in the fire.

The message above jives with what was announced by the governor last July, so hope for the best.

No doubt, the new version will be $3.50.

Feels like yesterday when the news of the fire broke and everyone was in a mad dash to buy up all Hubig's they could find.
I bought 20 of them at the Port Allen Race Trac for friends and family.

Just curious how everyone likes the Haydel pies since that is the closest replacement. I’m all for Hubig’s but, I cannot image the days of .99 happening ever again.
I would think John Folse & Monica are consultants for industrial cooking equipment, layout, and construction of the pie and not that it would end up in a pie! Unless Hubig is looking at a new line item to offset .99 pie price.

I'd hope they would just use their original recipe and not try to get too gourmet with it.

I saw the Reddit post as well. Not familiar enough with the source to judge it's credibility. I want to believe though!

I could definitely see them branching out and selling those premade but uncooked in the frozen food aisle. I'd eat that, too.
I'm also gonna get a lemon, an apple, and a chocolate and eat them all in one sitting with a big glass of chocolate milk if they really do come back.
I'm not gonna feel bad about it, either.

Will they be Hugh-big or U-big?

Sounds great... until it surpasses that very short shelflife

Lemon is the GOAT! It's what helped bring me from my 135lb HS grad weight to my 180 adult weight. It made me a man!

I’m a big fan of Nonna Randazzos’. Theirs are actually fried.

Heat that lemon in the microwave for a few along with a cup of French market coffee...BAM!
