I want to ship some King Cakes to Florida to some of my clients. Recommendations?

I live here in Florida. I've used Gambino's in the past but they send the cake in pieces. Icing in one bag, cinnamon in another. I don't want to give someone a chore.
I checked Randazzo's and they are sold out.
What does the F & D board suggest?

Just curious, is Mardi Gras celebrated in Fla.?

Haydels practically invented the shipping kingcake model. They are a safe choice, and good quality.

I just ordered a Haydel's to send to my buddy in DC. The girl on the phone said they still have a little bit of space to ship out that Monday before Mardi Gras for Mardi Gras Day delivery.

I shipped Haydel's king cakes to clients for years. They have always been somewhat pricey, but lately they have gotten ridiculously expensive to ship. I stopped sending them a few years ago. I don't really have a better recommendation--just wanted to complain and warn you should you decide to go that route. I do really like Haydel's king cakes. Just be prepared for the sticker shock!

A little. Pensacola does a decent job. Lots of boat parades on the water but nothing compared to South Louisiana or Mobile

It's not just Haydels. All the good NOLA bakeries are up there price wise. Be prepared to spend about $70 for overnight shipping with whomever you choose

Haydels is the best for this, but they probably only have a few days left that aren’t sold out. I like Manny Randazzos but I bet they are almost all sold out too.
Good luck

Honestly, I prefer the places that ship the icing separate. If your clients have younger kids, it’s a fun activity for them. But, aside from that, fedex/ups/usps do NOT care about protecting the king cake in the box, and when its pre-iced, it shows up beat to hell with the icing all over the bag it is packaged in inside of the shipping box, and just a huge mess .
That’s been my experience with a lot of them over the years. Just a counterpoint to consider — I agree with you on not giving someone a chore, but the mess that king cake may come in might defeat the entire purpose of shipping it in the first place!
I’ve never seen the cinnamon separated, I’ve only ever received them with a fully baked cake and icing/sprinkles/sanding sugar packed separate.

We finished a rouses cake and it was surprisingly great. Not dry at all. Idk how it would go if it were shipped though. Online they're $55 + $6 shipping.

Try Antoines. Great alternative to Randazzos
