Noticed that it's a Louisiana product with no MSG, so I decided to give it a go even though it has a higher ticket price. Seems like the innards are chopped finer than most andouille.

What's the consensus as to how this compares with others like Manda, etc.?

I would say the opposite, it is a coarser forcemeat that they employ.

It's aight. Not that much different than the others. I don't know if it is still there, but my favorite andouille was Jacob's in La place.

I've had the spicy pork and green onion, bothe are very good. To me, better than manda. Goes great in gumbo and just by itself w crackers.

Once or twice a year I get off I-10 at Laplace and stock up on andouille at Jacobs or Bailey's. They have the best.

Veron's is next best.

Richard's & Savoie's wold be next best in my rankings.

I've never tried Manda andouille.

make sure you remove that paper like casing on Verons first.

I usually swing around the corner to D&J's in St.Amant. Just got to hope they have some made. Smoked Sausage is solid as well.
I used to use Veron but find recently something changed with how they make it and I don't care for it.
Jacobs is $$$$$ anytime I pass that way I get some of that as well.

I am pretty sure Verons contains MSG if that matters to you.

I prefer Martin's Andouille which is made by the same people as Verons.

I think everyone is missing the point that you don't have access to the local stores that sell good sausage and have to make do w/ what they sell at Winn Dixe etc.
