Most everyone that goes here goes their to be noticed. It's like the cool place to go. The have the worst food around besides the fried rabbit. Congrats you have one item that is good. The margaritas are great but it still has to be the most overrated place in lafayette. What do y'all say?

That's quite an accomplishment.

It is what it is...
I'll head by once every month or two....I'm not going there for the best meal I've ever had, just for a good time with friends...
The off-the-menu wings are some of the best I've had, and even though I think the food at Coyote Blues is better, I've always had a good time at LaFonda...
The service is fine, the bartenders are quick, and it's a fun night out...
It's all about knowing what to expect...and not expecting the finest meal of your life.

I hear you but I started this thread because I seen it wasn't voted as top 3 best mexican food.

You would think after so many years that they would try new things and get someone that good create good food.
The margaritas will put you on your arse. There are many stories from this I can tell you.

They actually are trying. Lee Bob's daughter moved back to run the place and she's changed a few things. As you might expect, they have a core of long-term clients who like things the way they are, so if you come in and completely change the menu, they would freak out. It's probably going to be small incremental changes.

I've never heard anyone say the food was good. I actually had this conversation with a customer yesterday. Everyone goes for the cougars and margaritas or so i'm told. Never been.

And when you are drunk off your arse, that stuff is excellent.....Until a few hours later.

It's always been a social gathering place. I didn't frequent it unless someone else wanted to go. Matter of fact in 5 years living in Lafayette I never once had their food. Only drinks.
