Charley G's is always pretty solid
Ruffinos is Okay but the food has not really been the same since Pete Sclafani left and Ruff died
Social is damn good
I have a soft spot for Fezzos

I would go to Vestal (New American/Seafood/Steaks), it's the best "date night" experience in Lafayette currently, IMO.
I'm not sure what you consider "dressed up", but jeans and a button down shirt would be fine there, it's kinda on the same level of atmosphere as Pamplona.
Other solid suggestions:
Charley G's (New American/Seafood/Steaks)
Marcello's (Italian)
Janes (classic French)
Tsunami or Rock N Sake (sushi)
Social (fantastic whiskey selection if that interests you, decent New American fare)
ETA:
These places are also good, but not "date night" worthy, IMO:
Central Pizza
Spoonbill
Mercy Kitchen

So fricking disappointing. We'd go there a few times per month.
