I'm loving my new Turin Legato V2 paired with the DF64 Gen2. Wondering if anyone has some whole beans they really like. I've had a few beans from Current Crop in Nola that were very good. I've liked French Truck Erato espresso. I've also liked the Death Wish dark roast. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

are you looking local or online and whats local to you ?

I find that 4oz bags from Onyx are the best way to experience new beans..Torch, Color, Hydrangea, Brandywine..all top roasters that ship

locally, in Louisiana, there really isn't anyone exploring like other shops around the US are

Local is fine, but not opposed to ordering online. Found a grower in Columbia that has really good beans and trying to find out who sells his beans in the states. Waiting to hear back. FYI based in metairie. Not opposed to roast my own beans either. Been looking at a few roasters online. Current Crop has a nice selection of unroasted beans.

Onyx has great beans. A friend turned me on to these guys. Red Bird. Really good. They don’t roast til you order. Fast shipping. Also here in KC Roasterie coffee is really good. I’ve got a local guy I use too for small batch roasts he does.

for reference, here is my 2024 beans list..I tend to favor whoever has the most interesting beans at the time..It is VERY hard to pass up deals at Onyx though, since they have smaller bags available:

ETA: these are in roasted order, I add them when they ship which is normally same or next day of roast

Someone got that for us last year (business gift)... my wife just bitched about the fact we didn't one this year (yet).

I accidentally bought community whole bean. Serious question. Can I put them in a blender or maybe a ziplock and beat them with a meat tenderizer?

I'm glad you like the Legato. That's a lot of machine for the price.

I get my espresso beans from Fathers Coffee, a very small and manically meticulous roaster in Crowley, Louisiana. The Gold FM is the best espresso blend and roast I've found. It's a medium dark roast that is really good for espresso. I've had people say it's the best they've ever had. (Of course, the real reason for that is always the machine operator, right?)

Don’t see it on the site. Is it a seasonal?

I would say that maybe 3/4 of the beans someone is going to recommend if they are worth recommending, are going to be seasonal
