Lexington, KY Recommendations

We are taking our 5th Anniversary trip to Kentucky this weekend for some Bourbon tasting/tours (wife's idea for the "wood gift" aspect of the 5th anniversary) and I was curious if there were any recommendations from the FDB for dining in Lexington. Our AirBnB spot is about a block from West Sixth Brewing and a mile or so from Rupp Arena.

Dudley's is solid and a fun atmosphere.

Dudley's, Tony's, Malone's, Carson's are all good.
If you're looking for breweries west sixth is decent, but ethereal is better to me and in a cooler area. It's next to a restaurant called middle fork that's really good. There's also crank and boom ice cream and a pizza place all in that area.
The summit is a more recent development that has some decent restaurants in it toward nicholasville.
Winchell's, local taco, pies and pints, Sawyer's, and Ramsey's are some good low key places.
If you're going to be traveling to the surrounding areas windy corner, Wallace station, and local feed are pretty good.
Country boy and blue stallion are two other breweries that I haven't personally been to but have been recommended to me.
Any idea what distilleries you're going to hit so I can give you more accurate recommendations?

Tony's. Only rec you need.

Little outside of town, but goto the Sherwood Inn and ask for the “apple pie”. Tell them you saw it on three sheets if they look spooked.

My bro in law did his residency up there years back. Lexington is a cool place. I can't come up with the names of any places we went, but I remember all anyone talked about was a "hot-brown"

Thanks for all of the recommendations.
To answer Puffulufogous, we are tentatively planning on hitting the big ones: either some or all of Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Makers Mark, Bulleit, Heaven Hill, and Willett.
Since Buff Trace, Woodford, and Four Roses are all close, we'll probably hit them one day (unless we discover that more time is needed at each one). Same with the trio of Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and Willett. Bulleit is the only one that's "out of the way" unless we hear or read about other must-sees in Louisville.

I've done BT, makers, Woodford, and wild turkey. At BT schedule the hardhat tour. It's supposed to be awesome. Woodford is really pretty. Makers is in BFE. Wild turkey has a beautiful overlook but their bourbon is shite IMO.
Bardstown is a pretty cool little town that has a couple distilleries worth checking out.
Search for the other threads for better advice on the other distilleries.
If you're doing Bt and Woodford in one day while staying in Lexington, Frankfort has a pretty nice little place called bourbon on main. If they weather is good it's great to sit out overlooking the river. Otherwise I would eat in lex at one of the place myself or others have mentioned.
I am putting together a list of recommendations for Louisville as well in the other thread.

Tony's, Merrick Inn, Malones, Red State BBQ, Winchells, Savs, Taste of India, etc.

I used to to Lexington about once a month for business and always enjoyed a Middle Eastern place called Sahara.

Yeah, they have good food too.

While I haven't tried taste of India, masala is really really good.
Sahara is also great for lunch, although I doubt the OP is traveling to Lexington to have ethnic food.

I certainly appreciate all of the recommendations, but you are right. We have ethnic food options everywhere in Atlanta. I've probably had more Indian, Bangladeshi, Ethiopian (contrary to popular belief, they do in fact have food), etc in the last year or so since I moved back to the area than I had in my entire life. Atlanta doesn't get the credit it deserves for its culinary diversity.

feel free to eat as many hot browns as you'd like, but one isn't much different from another. There's more to KY than hot browns.
