Since they’re aluminum, do they crack like cast iron?

Are they coated in anyway? Like nickel plating or something?

Or are they usually good to go?

Go on eBay and look for an older one, made in the US of A. The newer stuff is made in China and doesn’t cook nearly as well.

I have a set from my first marriage, a LONG time ago. Haven’t ever seen one crack.

My MiL got me an old one off of eBay for Christmas last year. Love it. eBay is definitely the way to go.

Buy a used one from a garage sale, eBay, FaceBook marketplace, or see if your grandma has one she will gift you.

Search using these key words … Vintage WagnerWare Magnalite Roaster Aluminum , Sidney-O Dutch oven with trivet

4267-P is the 13qt size
4265 is the 8 qt size

If patient, you can find a quality, used, great condition Magnalite for $60 ~ $100 on eBay. Around $25 ~ $50 at garage sales

Get one that says Wagner Ware on the bottom. If it says GHC, it was made after 1979, but still good because they were still being made in the USA. More recent ones are made in China and are thinner.

They are ready to go.

I’d go with a cast iron Dutch oven instead. Holds heat so much better once up to temp.
