Looking for a simple coleslaw recipe, and other BBQ ideas

I'm going to smoke a brisket for the game tomorrow. I'm happy with my brisket, but I want to focus on the sides. So I'm going to do a big batch of baked beans, some over seasoned and over buttered green beans, and some coleslaw. I've never done coleslaw myself, and every recipe I find seems to have too many ingredients, just so it can be different. I'm looking for a simple, tasty recipe. And any other suggestions you have for a bbq spread. (I'll already have plenty of good ole white bread).

Coleslaw.
Chopped cabbage, carrots, mayo, sugar and a dash of lemon juice. Refrigerate for about an hour before serving.

Thanks, sounds like a plan to me. For goodness sakes, I just found one that used a ramon noodle pack.

German Style Coleslaw
Ingredients
1 head cabbage(sliced thin)
1 large red onion, sliced thin
1 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 T Tony's, or salt, red and black pepper to taste
Method
Heat the last four ingredients in a sauce pan to a low boil. Pour over the cabbage and onion, tossing with tongs. Once cooled, refrigerate for two hours or more. It's better the next day but good any time. Turn it a time or two to insure the dressing marinates the salad well.

I really like mustard slaw: cabbage, prepared mustard, cider vinegar, little bit of mayo, sugar, salt, pepper. Mix the mustard, mayo, and vinegar first then start adding the salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. I go light on the sugar because I prefer the tangy slaw to really sweet slaw. Rendezvous in Memphis has great mustard slaw, you might be able to Google the recipe.

Ruzil, I smoked a turkey as instructed in a link you gave last thanksgiving. It turned out amazing. As I was tasting away, I couldn't wait to get to drippings and sauce them up, hopefully becoming the star of the dish. As I went out the smoker, the drippings bowl was gone, I turned to the kitchen and my father in law was doing me a "favor" by going ahead and washing out the drippings bowl in the sink.

Oh well, turkey turned out great. Can't wait to smoke another one (and protect that drippings bowl).

The Ramen Noodle recipe rules.
1 bag coleslaw mix
1 bunch green onions
1/2 cup toasted almonds
1/2 cup canola oil
1/3 sugar
1/4 vinegar
1 package ramen noodles (whichever flavor you prefer)
Mix the dressing ingredients with the seasoning packet from the noodles. Toss with the slaw ingredients. Add the crushed up ramen noodles about 5-10 minutes before serving-they get soggy pretty quick.
Everyone loves this recipe.

Not coleslaw but goes great with bar be que
1 English Cumber seeded and cut into 1/2" pieces
1 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup white shoepeg corn
1/2 cup super sweet yellow corn
1 jalapeno chopped fine (remove seeds and membrane if you dont want all the heat)
3/4 cup of your favorite mayo
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all of that in a big bowl and serve as a side for bar be que. Everyone in my family loves it.

We make this quite often with bbq. I use red wine vinegar for it and the chicken flavored Ramen Noodles. Also use sunflower seeds, sometimes, or both the almonds and roasted seeds. Love the crunch of this salad. I prefer a vinegar based slaw to a mayo slaw. For something so simple, this salad is eaten up and we always double it with 2 16 oz bags of slaw etc... Highly recommend it.

I've made these baked beans several times.

I cooked the chopped bacon until it's crispy and brown, though. This is a good recipe.
I'm not upset when I see some good deviled eggs with bbq. Also like mustard greens and maque choux or some other type of corn with bbq whether it's a souffle or just plain old skillet corn. Mac and cheese is a given.

Blue Cheese Slaw:
Head cabbage chopped (or buy the packs)
Head Red cabbage chopped
5 Chopped up boiled eggs
3 chopped up bunches of green onions
Banana pepper liquid (vinegar)
Few big globs of Hellman's mayo
Thing of good blue cheese crumbles
Salt and or Tony's
Shitload of cracked black pepper
Incorporate all ingredients in a bowl. Eat and call it good.

1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup yellow mustard
¼ cup creamy horseradish sauce
3 ½ tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
Coleslaw:
15 cups (2 bags) shredded cabbage
1 ½ cups finely chopped yellow onions
¾ cup finely chopped green bell pepper
3 tablespoons chopped green onions
2 cups coleslaw dressing
1 ½ tablespoon minced garlic
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup yellow mustard
¼ cup creamy horseradish sauce
3 ½ tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
Coleslaw:
15 cups (2 bags) shredded cabbage
1 ½ cups finely chopped yellow onions
¾ cup finely chopped green bell pepper
3 tablespoons chopped green onions
2 cups coleslaw dressing

I'd add some bacon to that Balls to really set it off.
