Honeymooning in Santa Monica leading up to the LSU/UCLA game. Yes, I shouldn't have planned a wedding during football but COVID fricked things up earlier this year.

We thought about going to Malibu Wine Safari but it looks like that's shut down, and Napa is also severely limited to the point where it wasn't worth even a day trip.

Does anyone have suggestions on wine-related activities while in LA/SM?

I will be tasting my wine in Paso Robles, about 3 hours north of L.A. Have reservations as Daou.

Depending on traffic, which is always a huge if, you can get to Temecula in under 2 hours. We recently were out there and nothing is shut down.

ETA: I think they actually have some charters/tours that will bring you there and back from the LA area.

Check out the Simi Valley also. I've never been but have read some decent comments about the area.

We're flying in to San Fran this Saturday and have a day trip to Napa next Monday to 3 wineries. No issues with appointments!

We will also stay 2 nights in Paso Robles region on our way down to LA before the game and may hit Turley and some others in the area.

Appears most winery's require an appointment.

Good luck & have a great honeymoon!

I can't get the Youtube series out of my head when I hear that but I will take a look as well.

I got sentenced to Los Angeles ( Beverly Hills) for a couple months but made it to the Regan Presidential library. Was unbelievably beautiful in Simi. Made going 100% worth it.

Santa Barbara Wineries

Town of Solvang is really nice and has lots of small wineries. Definitely recommend.
Lucas & Lewellen
Lions Peak

Foxen in Santa Ynez
Sanford in Lompoc
Seasmoke - Lompoc
Zaca Mesa in Los Olivos
Alma Rosa - Buellton
Cambria - Santa Maria
Rancho Sisquoc - Santa Maria
Koehler

ETA oops I read Santa Barbara instead of Santa Monica. Oh well. I would venture out. Not too far.
