Well it’s not like it’s North Dakota Crabs or something. Maryland seems like a pretty respectable crab place.

Any way they can, but yes a mallet is used sometimes to crack the shell. Not really necessary though. Lots of crab cakes too and crab soup. All seasoned with Old Bay or Wye River, or something like that.

Not North Dakota at all. Maryland has a pretty respectable crab and oyster reputation. The Chesapeake is a big bay, though they share it with Virginia. They pull a lot of crabs and oysters out of that bay, but it is also heavily regulated and it's a pretty populous area.

I’ve worked off of Chincoteague Island a good bit and really enjoyed the local crabs and scallops. Place is cool.
