Both are good. IWEI either way. Don' forget a sweet bbq sauce glaze. Darla Hood one-upped it with a bacon topping.

Brown sugar, cinnamon and catsup glaze. Oatmeal as the filler, not breadcrumbs.

Ketchup/brown sugar for me.

If any of you are the gravy type... the Shell by the interstate on Highland/Perkins has John Folse meat loaf (or 'road loaf' as i like to call it) and it is the best meat loaf I've ever had.

Always baked plain. Gravy or dipped in cold ketchup. I can't stand glazed meatloafs

Baked plain (or with bacon on top). Either dip bite in cold ketchup or squirt some on the slice on your plate.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd say brown gravy with smothered onions and a side of mashed taters is the way it's supposed to be eaten. However, I don't see why you couldn't make the meatloaf with the glaze and still have the gravy. Even if the glaze was too much to mix, you could always scrape it off but maybe that's just me...

Also, I've started making meatloaf again just recently and added a dash of fish sauce into the mix... Do it, just a dash...

Brown gravy. Won't touch it if it's made with ketchup... Gross

I like to smoke them and finish with a thin Hickory/Honey glaze but if I had to chose between the two options presented, I'm going with ketchup/tomato.

But if I'm at your house and you go brown gravy, I would still gladly eat it.

I like it cooked plain, and will top with either if available. But I also like to just eat it plain, if it is well seasoned and is browned on top and juicy and pink in the middle.

Had some last week that had been cooked with a ketchup glaze on top, and it just wasn't as good.
