With the numbers of Latino residents increasing in mainly the Kenner area, are any of you aware of good authentic Mexican restaurants?
Casa Garcia has been a staple for so many years, and the owners are good people, but I am just looking for something different.

It’s pretty cookie cutter TexMex but Pedros in Harahan has been a nice surprise since they opened. Good happy hour, nice outdoor patio with live music, and a really good sauces- try the habanero sauce and salsa verde. I haven’t had anything there that blew my socks off but never walked away andouille mad either.

Their bean dip alone is worth the trip.

Did Dos Amigos survive the pandemic?

I always liked Los Jefes but I haven't been in a couple of years. Can't speak on the quality now.

Our regular place is Don Jose. Pretty good. More on the Tex-Mex side than Casa Garcia.

Mawi on West Esplanade is the answer. I believe they only do breakfast and lunch though. Their Birria is excellent. Plan to have a bit of a wait. There are some tables, but it’s mainly a to go spot.

It's hit or miss. I don't recommend Don Jose or El Paso, Pedro's is ok. Los Jefes is still good. I used to like Taqueria Corona, but haven't been in a minute. Still need to check out Taqueria Mi Rancho on Williams.

I haven't actually been to the restaurant, but have ordered ubereats from Chilangos and has been very good every time. Huge serving sizes as well.
