What restaurant has a good one so I can copy their recipe. I’ve had one at Bourbon house

Mr. B's. If I'm in the FQ and go out to dinner at a different restaurant, I'll make a separate trip to Mr. B's for a dessert of a brandy milk punch.

Ohh man; hundreds of ways to go here.
Milk? Half and Half? Cream Brandy? Bourbon? Aged Rum? The variations are endless.
I make one on Christmas morning that goes like this. Quart of half and half, with a cup of milk. Half cup of powdered sugar; 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract (bonus points if from homemade stash). Shake the shite out of this mixture, or blend it. Taste adjust seasoning. To this I add a half cup of cold brew. And then this is my base. Someone wants bourbon, fine. Brandy, great. Vodka, whatever white russian. Add chosen spirit to glass or cocktail shaker, add base. Shake or stir. Top with grated nutmeg if so desire.
You can just as easily omit the cold brew. Ive also had a really great one that was just melted vanilla ice cream with bourbon added.

Chef Jamie Shannon's (Commander's) recipe for Brandy Milk Punch - as written down after consuming a few - this is a great drink!
Makes 6 servings
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
12 ounces bourbon
1 egg white (optional)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup very cold water
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
Nutmeg to taste
Combine the milk, cream, bourbon, egg white, sugar, water, add vanilla in a large pitcher. Stir well, or if you have a lid, shake. Serve in rocks glasses and sprinkle each cocktail with some nutmeg.

Anyone ever make a milk punch recipe with clarified milk?

Best one ever was from the late/great Pink Flamingo that used to be on St Charles, right off of Lee Circle.

I never thought of this as a Christmas morning option for drinking. I always go with mimosas. To me, Brandy Milk Punch is the drink of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Simple syrup (with broken cinnamon sticks infused or steeped)
Vanilla extract
Almond extract
milk
brandy, bourbon, scotch
Entire mixture frozen.
To serve, defrost somewhat and shake. First one doesn't poor perfectly but soon after it develops a slushy consistency..

And to me, brandy milk punch is a Mardi Gras breakfast thing.

Brennan's Brandy Milk Punch
Good recipe, very easy.
Can use bourbon or Brandy and powdered sugar can be substituted for simple syrup.

I have read and continue to read too much about cocktails and wine. As near as I can aim to truth, Milk Punches have always been an eye opener served, and this appears very important, both the morning after an indulgent night, and as a base for a long day ahead. A sort of bridge between the underworld of the hungover and the divine daytime intoxication of the gods. The milk dairy base will help settle an upset stomach, while the sugar and booze helps steel the nerves.
So yes I could see how it could work for the Houston Rodeo. But try it at Christmas or Mardi Gras morning and find that this is a very adaptable tool for navigating those shaky mornings wherein one must plow forward.

I used to drink and party with Coleen Sally. Famed quarterite who wrote very popular children’s books. Her recipe was simple and I loved it. Gallon of vanilla blue bell and a fifth or handle of beam depending on how drunk we wanted to get.

I can attest to this.
After the bar exam, I went to my brothers wedding parties for two days. I hadn’t slept all week due to tests and was eating like shite. I walked out of the final exam on a Friday knowing I had dominated all 9 sections. It was time to get wasted.
Rehearsal dinner somehow turned into the reception the next day. On the way back to the hotel with my mom, I asked the cab to pull over so I could puke by the Walmart on tchoup. My mom was embarrassed, but got me into my room.
Coleen had a bug brunch the next morning, that I was invited to. I called and said I couldn’t make it bc I had puked all night long. She called me a pussy and said she was making punch.
I cabbed over and laid on her couch while blue bloods dined on grillades. She wasn’t happy with me, so she brought me some punch. I rallied and drank with her for the rest of the day.
God is good.

Yeah but that was back when they just gave the same bar exam every year. So that isn’t all the special that you dominated it. Even Frank Abagnale passed the Louisiana bar.
