"must have" KitchenAid mixer attachments

So far the list includes a meat grinder (all jokes welcome) and a spiralizer/peeler. Thoughts on any other attachments? I've been told "all of them" but realistically I do not see how much I will use the pasta maker attachment for the price it's worth.

If you plan to make cake, cupcakes, icing, etc. then I recommend this dual scrapper beater:

The pasta roller is great.

I don't know if I can say that I've hit the 'justify the price' point on the pasta maker attachment from a purely economic perspective (I've got the roller one, not the extruder), but it's a blast to use and I'm still glad we have it.

I'm assuming this is a slightly better version of the stock beater that came with ours? One that can help do a little more scooping around the bowl. Ours came with the dough hook, wire whisk, and beater (looked ceramic coated.)

I do suppose that's fair. $70-$90 for parts that I should assume last a very long time if not used too often does seem like a worthwhile investment. Maybe it's something we can add on later.
I do know for a fact that I enjoy the idea of making homemade burgers and grinding up beef for dishes that I want to try out.

But if you don't see yourself making any of the things I mentioned above, then it will be a dust collector for you.

I don’t have the ice cream attachment, but I’ve borrowed from my DIL. It was good.

Got a notice that the previous comment didn’t go through, but there it is.

I have this off-brand roller. It's only $40 and it works great. I've had it for 4 years now.

Yes,
The stock beater doesn't have any scrappers, and some of the aftermarket ones only have a scrapper on one side. This dual version makes it so you don't need to stop the machine, scrape the sides, and resume as often or many times not at all.

If you a fruit tree a juicer attachment is a must. I have a key lime tree and a GF brought over her KA with the juicer attachment. In no time we had about 3 gallons of fresh squeezed. Made Margaritas and Key lime pies and froze the rest..

I'm still using a KitchenAid lever-lift stand mixer bought in 1992 at a deep discount. Only bought 2 attachments, a juicer and a meat grinder. The first has rarely been used, but the grinder gets hauled out 3 or 4 times a year.
If you get one spend a few dollars more and get the solid metal one. My plastic over metal one started to fail 5 years ago. When the metal feeder screw turns it puts stress on the plastic housing causing cracking near the transfer coupling. To coax a few more years out of it, I tightened a stainless hose clamp around the area that is cracking.
From what I've read, KA has maintained their quality. My 32 year-old with its carbon-brush motor is a serious machine. Ever since KA mixes started being available in designer colors the chance of getting a good discount is better... if you can live with an unpopular color.

Be forwarded I broke gears in my mixer using a meat grinder attachment. Maybe my fault idk but I gave it away and bought a stand alone.

I use the grater/shredder attachment a good bit. Useful for a big block of cheese or cabbage for homemade sauerkraut.
