A lot of chain stuff in that area. I don’t know how far you want to go. Lots of good things in Mt. Brook, Homewood and Bham proper. You could go into Bessemer and eat at the Bright Star or Bob Sykes BBQ.

Do not stay at the Hyatt on 280 near Inverness, they host a lot of youth sports teams, the chaos is over the top. The free buffet looks like an Animal House food fight. 2 elevators, one was out, the kids were playing in the other, had to walk to the 4th floor.

Cajun Cleaver usually has some sandwiches you can order. Check their social media. It’s pretty up to date.
Cajun Cleaver
Biscuit Belly in Hoover is a good
Breakfast spot
Flying Biscuit in Vestavia/Mountain Brook is good
Maple Street Biscuit Company
Slice Pizza & Brew in Vestavia

Last time we passed through we stopped at a hole in wall pizza place that made Chicago style deep dish pizza that was amazing. Tortugas Pizza.

Bob Sykes BBQ isn’t that good imo. I’d recommend melt, saws BBQ, Slice Pizza, Little Donkey, Martin’s BBQ and Waldo’s.

Jim N Nicks BBQ. I dream about those cheese biscuits.

Tortuga's Chicago style pizza is a must. Best pizza outside of Chicago.
Whiskey Foxtrot for dogs and burgers. It's beside Cajun Cleaver.
Silver Coin is the best Indian food in Bham.
Pollo Lucas is some South American chicken that is amazing.
Jake's Soul Food. Get the ox tails.
Archie's BBQ. Get the jumbo cheeseburger.
Mr P's or Diplomat deli for the local deli/sandwich experience.
Hoover is starved for a local fine dining experience. Maybe another poster has a local rec for that. Closest I can think of is BistroV in Vestavia.

2nd Silver Coin & Tortugas.
Vecchia Pizzeria & Moss Rock Tacos are straight up Preserve Parkway from the HMC.
Baha Burger is close to the hotel, as is Blue Pacific (Thai, takeout only, but damn good; order early)
Don't think you'd be mad if you went to Sandoval's Mexican.
