New Orleans Retaurant Recommendations during Thanksgiving Week

Wife, adult son (32), adult daughter (30) and I are planning on being in New Orleans for Thanksgiving week (Wed - Sun). We've eaten at a lot of New Orleans restaurants in the past, but we are looking for breakfast, lunch and dinner recommendations, including for Thanksgiving. We will be staying at an apartment in the Quarter. High-end, middle-end and low-end. All recommendations appreciated. If we can make reservations now, that would even be better. It doesn't have to be in the Quarter. Just wanting the pulse on this board about various restaurants. Thanks in advance.

I would make GW Fins a priority one night for dinner, then book other reservations based on that one.

If you’re looking for a place in the Quarter I’m a big fan of Sylvain.

Thanks. It doesn't have to be in the Quarter, but I appreciate the recommendation.

Lots of options; I’d seriously consider GW Fins and Bayona for dinner. Hard to beat Parkway Tavern for a po-boy / lunch.

Are you aware of what goes on those days in town? Just curious. Not trying to start a thing here.
Would like to know more specifically what type of restaurants you might enjoy, what you’ve enjoyed in the past

I am aware. I've been going to NO for over 60 years. I fly in and out of NO about every 6 weeks. I have plenty of friends in NO, including in the restaurant business. I am just interested in everyone's opinions on the subject. Thanks for asking.

10-4. I've eaten at Michelin 3 star restaurants in Europe and in the US. From French Laudry to Osteria Francescana in Modena to most of the best restaurants in New Orleans. The NO restaurants don't have to be that quality. I am just interested in your recommendations.

See if the Revillion menus are in effect. If so, try the Pelican Club.

Just trying to see if you are the looking for fried gator type or not.
I’ll keep you in the FQ
Breakfast
Low: Croissant D’Or
Mid: Cafe Amelie
High: Brennan’s
Tip: places Ruby Slipper (multiple locations) & Court of Two Sisters will pop up in searches. Meh
Lunch
Low: johnnys po boys
Mid: Napoleon house
High: Galatoires
Tip: FQ has a blind spot for a decent sit-down lunch. Most places open in the late afternoon
Dinner
Low: pick a bar-type place that serves food. Will and The Way, Cane & Table, or Jewel of the South.
Mid: Palm & Pine
High: Mamou
Tip: my low category recs are cocktail-forward bars with great food. These aren’t tshirt & jeans places. More hip/trendy with chill vibes.

Thanks. I've been going to Napoleon since 1978, Good recommendation and I like the Pimms Cup there.
Probably not high on Brennan's for breakfast, but good recommendation. I am probably more Camillia Grill for breakfast
I do like Johnny's for po-boys. Great lunch spot.
Galatoire's is one of my favorites for lunch or dinner. Spot on.
I love cocktail-forward bars with great food. Thank you for the recommendations You understood the task.
Defintiely not the fried gator crowd. I grew up in Lake Charles and I was at LSU from 1978-2995 (including law school). We eat in NO for unique dishes.
My tastes include most of Dickie Brennan's restaurants (Bourbon House, Tableau, Commander's Palace, Palace Cafe, Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse (although, I don't go to NO restaurants for steaks), Pascal's Manale's and Mr B's. We also like John Besh's restaurants (like August) and we like Peche and Revolution (John Folse is a friend of a friend).
Since I live in Texas, we like seafood and local dishes.
I appreciate your insight. Several of the restaurants that you suggsted were not on my radar, but will be now. We are food, wne and alcohol foodies.
We've eaten at Rubby Slipper (in NO and BR), but probably looking for something different and a little more original.
Any more once you have this info?

Let me take you to the Bywater
Consider Bywater Bakery for a breakfast. Elizabeth’s will do a nice, casual breakfast/brunch/lunch. Frady’s for poor boy. Alma’s is another great option for breakfast or lunch. Satsuma Cafe as well.
Some of the heaviest hitting dinner options reside in the Bywater. Saint Germain, N7, Paladar 511, and now Acamaya. All would make for a lovely evening.
You also have Pizza Delicious for a slice. Bacchanal for a place to relax and have a nice glass of wine and some charcuterie. Parleaux if you fancy a beer.
There’s a lot going on in the Bywater/Marigny

Just want to make sure you are aware of the Bayou Classic football game in town that weekend. The Quarter will be pure chaos on Friday and Saturday. My vote is for GW Fins

There will be Christmas lights in the Roosevelt lobby. Could catch dinner at Domenica
